Summer News</p>

The Charles Town Middle FFA chapter has been working hard this summer. FFA members practiced and then competed in the West Virginia State FFA Convention held in Ripley, WV this July. Members' skills were put to the test in the areas of opening and closing ceremonies, tractor driving, FFA quizbowl, and scrapbook. The 2012-2013 officer team consisting of MaKenzie Ring, McKayla Dodson, Dylan James, Keith Dailey, Lindsay Heflin, and Kyle Ballenger placed 1st overall and had the opportunity to open the 4th general session in front of over 450 members and guests. MaKenzie Ring placed 3rd overall in the tractor driving contest. The quizbowl team placed 3rd and was made up of Jacqueline Ware, Keith Dailey, Lindsay Heflin, and Dylan James. The chapter's scrapbook also received a 1st place plaque for the third year in a row. The chapter was also awarded with the West Virginia Gold Emblem Chapter plaque, one of seven in the state. During the National FFA Convention being held this fall the chapter will find out their national ranking. Congratulations to the Charles Town Middle FFA Chapter!
